Today, in honor of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Technological University of Tajikistan hosted an intra-university competition entitled “Young Inventor” and “Best Student Innovation Projects” with the broad participation of the teachers, students and guests from ministries and departments. The event was also timed to coincide with the twentieth Anniversary of the Study and Development of Natural, Exact and Mathematical Sciences and the Science Week and opened with an introductory speech by the Rector of the University Rahmonzoda Zoir Faizali. In his speech, rector emphasized that in a rapidly changing world, the development of invention and innovation is a key factor in the progress of the national economy, namely intelligence, knowledge and creative thinking constitute the true wealth of the nation. It was also noted that the university, as a center for generating new ideas, creates a favorable environment for the development of start-ups and the education of young inventors, and in recent years has achieved significant results, including obtaining 26 patents and the implementation of dozens of scientific projects.
It was highlighted that within the framework of international cooperation and academic mobility programs, including Erasmus+, students and faculty have had opportunities to enhance their knowledge and gain experience at leading European universities. In addition, the active participation of students in international events, including the “100 Future Innovators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization” Festival, was recognized as a sign of the growing intellectual potential of youth. Zoir Fayzali also paid special attention to the development of scientific infrastructure, support for innovative initiatives, strengthening cooperation with the industrial sector, and the training of competitive specialists.
During the event, invited guests also shared their views. Rahmonali Davlatov, Chief Specialist of the Department of Scientific and Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, emphasized the importance of integrating science with production and the role of universities in advancing modern technologies, describing the contribution of youth as crucial to the development of the industrial sector.
Ahmadjon Rahmonzoda, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that holding such competitions creates a favorable environment for identifying young talents, developing a research culture, and fostering innovative thinking, and is one of the priority directions of state policy.
Bahodur Nazarov, Chief Specialist of the Department for State Examination of Inventions and Industrial Designs of the National Patent and Information Center, focused on issues of intellectual property protection and the importance of patenting inventions, encouraging students to present practical projects with industrial and market value.
During the event, university lecturers Mukhabbat Ikromi and Ibodullo Haqyorov as a members of the expert commission, were awarded letters of appreciation from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan for their significant contribution to the preparation and conduct of the republican competition “Young Researcher and Inventor” among students, master’s students, PhD candidates, and applicants of higher educational and scientific institutions of the country.
Afterward, the university administration and guests acquainted with the inventions and innovations, which presented by students, as well as by pupils of the Innovative Lyceum “Dushanbe” affiliated with the university.
Following the event, the commission began evaluating the submitted inventions and innovations. The best projects will be announced in the coming days and will be awarded cash prizes and commemorative gifts.
The event was held in a scientific and constructive atmosphere, once again confirming that young inventors and innovators are the driving force behind the country’s sustainable development.
