Department of Tajik Language

The Tajik Language Department was established in September 1990 within the structure of the Technological University of Tajikistan, headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Qosimov Olimjon Habibovich. In 1997-2001, the head of this department was Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Vosiev Qurbon Vosievich, and in September 2001 he was appointed State Advisor to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2001, the Department of Tajik Language and Humanities was established on this basis, which was headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Odinaev Nurmuhammad Safarovich until 2008. From 2008 to 2014, the Tajik language was part of the department of “Philosophy and Professional Education”, headed by the candidate of philosophical sciences, associate professor Niyazi Yormuhammadi Bobo. In 2014, the department was expanded to include the subject of information linguistics, and the department was renamed Tajik Language and Information Linguistics, and its leadership was entrusted to associate professor Odinaev Nurmuhammad Safarovich. Since 2017, only the Tajik language has been taught in the department.
