The Department of Economic Theory and Development Economics was established in September 2007. In 2007, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Daringov K.P. was appointed head of the department, in 2009 – Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor R.K. Ranimov, and in 2010, PhD in Economics, Senior Lecturer Sattorov A.A. was appointed, in 2014 – PhD in Economics, Senior Lecturer Radzhabov K.R., and from 2016 to the present, the duties of the head of the department have been performed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Usmanova Tufa Dzhumaevna. A graduate of this specialty receives the qualification of an economist – analyst in the production and non-production sectors of the economy. He must be able to analyze and plan the production program for the development of the enterprise and coordinate his actions with other structures of the enterprise, be able to evaluate strategic, tactical and operational decisions from the point of view of their impact on the final results of the economic activity of the enterprise.
The requirements for a graduate of the specialty “Analytical Economics” are determined by the Standard of Higher Professional Education, according to which the graduate must:
An analyst is a specialist trained at the level of international requirements for systematic analytical work on assessing and forecasting the financial position of an organization, the state of the stock market, analyzing socio-economic and demographic phenomena at the municipal, regional and federal levels.
Graduates can work in:
analytical and information-analytical departments of banks and financial companies
departments of enterprises in the real sector that carry out settlement, planning and planning-analytical activities; calculation and analytical departments of insurance companies
analytical departments of consulting companies
departments of state and municipal government bodies responsible for solving problems related to complex calculations and processing large volumes of economic and statistical information

Studied disciplines:
During the training it is necessary to undergo educational practice (2 weeks) and industrial practice (3 weeks). During the studies, students undergo practical training at leading state and private enterprises. Employment for practical training is carried out by the university; students are given a choice of companies in which they could undergo practical training.

At the present stage of development, one of the key factors of economic growth and increasing the level of well-being of the population in most industrially developed countries is the direct influence of scientific and technological progress.
Achievements of science and technology contribute to improving the quality of products and services, saving labor and material resources, increasing labor productivity, improving the organization of production and increasing its efficiency, which ultimately determines the level of competitiveness of manufactured products and the manufacturers themselves in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as the country as a whole. In the modern world, there is an understanding that the pace and direction of scientific and technological development are the most important means of fighting for socio-economic prosperity, achieving competitive advantages in national and international markets, and ensuring national security.
A graduate of this specialty receives the qualification of an economist, teacher of economic disciplines and holds such primary positions as a teacher, referent, economist in the field of scientific and technological development.
