The department was founded in 2004 under the name "Technology of Textiles and Clothing Design" (TNNTL).

In 2004-2006, the department was headed by Ph.D., associate professor V. Mirakilov From 2006-2011, the head of the department was Ph.D. and about. prof. Ishmatov A.B. In 2012-2013 Worked on this post, associate professor Najmiddinov B.Z. From September 2013 to January 2014 the department was headed by the senior lecturer Sheraliev D.M. The department of textile technology by order of the rector of the university No. 45-LS-1 dated August 30, 2014 was the department of TTIiSO. The following specialties are prepared on the basis of the department: 1-500101 - Technology of yarn, fabrics, knitwear and nonwoven materials, 1-50010101 - Technology of spinning, 1-50010104 - Technology of weaving, 1-50010105 - Technology of knitwear, 1-54010104 - Metrology, standardization and certification.

The department has 47 subjects in full-time studies. In particular 1. Fundamentals of technology, products and textile fibers, 2. Fundamentals of engineering psychology 3. Technology and equipment for the primary processing of cotton, 4. Mechanical technology of textile products 5. Methods and means of measurement, control and quality, 6. Designing of industry enterprises, Technical control in weaving, knitting and spinning, 8. Technology and equipment for dyeing fabrics, 9. Metrology, standardization and certification 10 Basic technologies, products and characteristics of textile fibers (textile and Delia), and others.

2. The department employs 11 full-time teachers, including 2- doctors of technical sciences, professor, 1- candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, 1- candidate of economic sciences, 1- candidate of technical sciences, 5- senior teachers, 1- assistant.
